interesting ....and scary.
an interesting thing about these GCMs ..even though they don't have the chem as well as the phys, and even though they don't all couple with Ocean Circulation Models ...at this point almost all of the GCMs around are predicting that the Thermohaline Circulation (what keeps europe warm) will shut down. They're right that people should know about this.

I love a mathematical model as much as the next guy, but the effects of clouds, precipitation and oceans are important. Cold Europe? That would kind of suck.

a little important... truth be told the models have gotten better and they sure seem to be getting a lot of proxy data to append the models..... also, here's one cat who's helping bridge the gap (quite a good read, in pdf)

the shitty thing about a colder europe, is that what with no atmosphere barriers between europe and the rest of the world, once the thermohaline conveyor belt shuts off and europe cools, it then dominoes over to the next continents which then in turn..... so it does affect us.

...and even though this total nimrod just released a report saying that climate change will be good for canadian tourism (barring of course the freak storms and flooding....) if you aren't a total idiot, you will realize that this is not where to hedge your bet... golf (!)
