Prism Solar: getting all holographic on us!
something new under the sun....
PS
Well, we all know that there is a SoG-Si shortage worldwide now.. and that's why companies as diverse as DayStar and SunBall are getting so much attention. They either use nano-noSilicon, or use silicon in a new and unique way (like lenses that multiply the amount of sun you're getting). So up in Stone Ridge NY, Rick Lewandowski and a group of people from his company, called PrismSolar, have figured out another way to increase the bang-for-buck ratio. And it's with my 2nd favorite technology; holograms! Yes! They have figured out a way to increase the amount of sun hitting the Photovoltaics, so that they can reduce the mount of silicon needed by 85%. Oh. I almost forgot to tell you, it's see through, so that means that your windows and doors and other transparent surfaces are fair game!!

i have to ask, what's your favourite technology?

i much prefer the idea of solar panelled windows and doors than rooftops. i like this idea.

then chek out XsunX.com as well... they are pretty awesome at using windos and doors for solar panels...

my fav?? i think reducing. no, seriously, if not that then it woudl have to be Sterling Engines. I mean i've seen some FREAKY technologies (this little 9" box forexample that heats up an entire warehouse-- it's in my movie at and just finally got some validation as being real today in treehugger) but all in all i think nothing has impressed me more than seeing a 50 year old sterling engine fly with a little bit of heat... they rock!

Yes! I love a house with lots of windows, and now I can benefit even more from all those windows. Hot stuff!

By the way, I posted images of the new Green Greyhound Terminal.

I'm having issues getting the code to work, as I'm still somewhat new to this LJ thing. You are welcome to link to it if you'd like.
