There's talk on the streets it sounds so familar... Great Expectations everybody's watching you!
There's a new kid in town....
greenoptions
There's a new blog! Just went public today called GreenOptions and it would be really nice if y'all went over there and gave 'em a gander.... to be honest my friend Michael has been sending me snippets of this site-- and background for a few weeks now and it is something. It will grow into something extra special over the weeks, months and years to come... so get used to it!

It has some serious B & C-Listers from the green blogsphere writing and creatin it! Including Jeff Sustainablog, Shea MuseingsofanEcoEnterpreneur, GroovyGreen Michael, EcoGeek Philip, EcoRazzi/GreenerMiami Rebeca, and a host of others.. so perhaps they are aiming to break into Treehugger/WorldChanging/Grist Territory? Will have to wait and see.....

As you can imagine, with a roster like that, they do have an awesome blog area.. many stories, all well written and tons of good energy! I certainly plan on having links to this in the future! I also look forward to this upcoming 30 days to a green you series. It looks like it will be a blast!

One thing that i think is really fonqué is that they have a forum. will it work? they certainly aren't the first to try it... but no one has succeeded yet. The new TH roll-out was going to have one, and it disappeared. As have most Green Forums (even though greenies love talking sooo much you would think it could take off). Then again, when it comes to forum (I used to mod one with over 10,000 members worldwide) FORM and STRUCTURE are imperative. And TBH this one doesn't grab me. Why? Its layout is harsh, it looks like an after-thought, once it starts to get filled up it will be really tough to control-- it's kinda like making a web page in HTML, sure you can, but really why go through the pain for something less-than? If they are open to suggestions maybe I'll go in there and suggest that they look at VBullitin it can be green and really it is clear and has great growth potential... please guys, look at VBullitin.

A really promising part is their "Green Life Guide". I look forward to seeing how this part progresses... all too often people say they are gong to create something like this an usually it ends up sucking. Look at the consumer reports Greener Options. Sucks. no really, have you ever found something interesting in it? I mean i subscribe to the thing and still am non-plussed every month (then again I hear some people actually get something out of Ideal Bite so maybe these things aren't aimed for professionals--even professionals who don't talk pro)> Anyway it looks promising.. they have some great partners, like EnegyStar to provide content and so it could turn out to be a great resource.. I mean on my desk right now i have the enerGuide appliance directory and if this information gets filtered out through Green Options to the world, it will be an awesome resource!

Lastly there's some thing called the "Green Report"-- kinda similar to my GLM Headline News bu TBH a little more all over the place... it looks like the content at the front page of GoogleNews if you've done lotsa customizing... I dunno, i don't usually bother with news sites that are all over the place, but maybe that's just me, since it has Paris Hilton on it today (something about youtube's order to remove, and another about Peyton Manning (not even the SuperBowl going "green") it looks like it's meant for people who are looking for a 1-stop place for news. Personally, I don't know about it, but that might just be me. And then again it may also be because I'm a little miffed to be excluded from their list of green blogs (what am I? chartreuse? teal? OK, i know I'm not your average green blog-- but is that a reason to leave me off the list?? Meh, seriously ask D'Estries if I am worthy...) But really, all in all that's really not all that important to me. really/ If it was Exuberant Pantaphobia would be way different (and have a name like Green Something) right?

Anyway all in all this is a site to bookmark! This is a place to really see some major green news on a regualr basis. Hats off to David (founder & CEO) Shea Jeff and everyone else involved... one more great source for greeninfo! That's Aiiiight with me!~='

[oh and for the record; that is the second time in my life that i actually quoted the Eagles-- the last was on my way to shooting the Kerr-Cole Sustainable Centre, on the corner in Winslow AZ and I am not going to tell you how many women on my mind...]

Category 5 Felix barrels toward Central America

ORANJESTAD, Aruba - Felix rapidly strengthened into a dangerous Category 5 hurricane and churned through the Caribbean Sea on a path toward Central America, where forecasters said it could make landfall as “potentially catastrophic” storm.
Felix was packing winds of up to 165 mph as it headed west, according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center. It was projected to skirt Honduras’ coastline on Tuesday before slamming into Belize on Wednesday.
“As it stands, we’re still thinking that it will be a potentially catastrophic system in the early portions of this week, Tuesday evening, possibly affecting Honduras and then toward the coast of Belize,” said Dave Roberts, a hurricane specialist at the center in Miami.
